Dr. Damon Raskin & Former Green Beret Nate Boyer
In high school, he played basketball and baseball, but didn’t care much about grades. At 5’11”, 160 lbs., the NBA or MLB were highly improbable career choices. With an interest in the military, he met with a recruiter to become a Ranger. 3 tours of duty and a couple brushes with death later, Nate Boyer decided he would give football a try….at the University of Texas!
While serving overseas, he would watch videos on YouTube and learned how to train for football. He made the team as a walk-on, and eventually earned a scholarship….how he did it will surprise you! The obvious choice to carry a real battle-worn American flag onto the field during home games, Boyer would earn straight A’s to go along with his Bronze Star. After graduating from UT with 2 degrees and 4 years of football under his belt, he’s now shooting for something bigger…at age 34!
Join me to hear the inspiring story of the man who won’t quit, who isn’t afraid to try anything, and has become a heroic icon of perseverance and discipline!
Also on the show, Board Certified Internist Dr. Damon Raskin. Dr. Raskin discusses how a lack of accountability for Angels OFer Josh Hamilton just might result in catastrophic consequences for the All-Star since his relapse into drug/alcohol abuse.
